Mumbai Sees Dip In Covid Cases For Fourth Straight Day; Delhi Logs 21,259 Infections

New Delhi: Mumbai saw a decline in Covid-19 cases for the fourth consecutive day while Delhi registered more than 20,000 infections on Tuesday.  Even though the highly transmissible Omicron variant has led to a spurt in cases in the country, hospitalizations and deaths are fewer compared to the peaks driven by Delta last year. Delhi recorded 21,259 cases and 23 Covid-related deaths on Tuesday, which is the highest in the last eight months, taking the death toll to 25,200.  The positivity rate has amounted to 25.65 percent, according to health department data. Delhi has 74,881 active cases, of which 50,796 are in home isolation. As per data, 2,209 Covid patients are in hospitals. Of them, 84 are on ventilator support. With 12,161 patients recovering in the last 24 hours, the total number of recoveries has gone up to 14,90,074.
